Terrence L. "Ted" Pope Obituary (1941

Terrence L. "Ted" Pope, 77, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2018 at his residence. Born January 18, 1941 in Shelbyville, he was the son of Maurice H. and Frances J. (Sills) Pope. He married Bonnie L. (Branson) Pope in 1990 and she survives. Other survivors include 7 children- Robin Holdren (husband Nate) of Shelbyville, Sheila Haugen (husband Tim) of Georgia, Pam Dietz of North Carolina, Teddy Pope of Arizona, Rex Pope (wife Michelle) of Arizona, John Thomas (wife Kate) of Greenwood, Todd Dietz (wife Dana) of North Carolina; 2 stepsons- Joshua Wells & Davy Wells, both of Shelbyville; 19 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister. Mr.Pope had lived in this area most of his lifetime and graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1959. He had been employed with Pope's Small Engine Repair for 10 years,and was a Shelbyville fireman from 1975 to 1996. He also worked at Bob's Marathon for many years. He attended Town & Country Christian Church, and was a member of the Eagles Lodge and the Indiana Firefighters Association. Ted enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with his family. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with the Rev. Ronnie Caine officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will be in Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery.
