Norman C. Hinkle Obituary (1925

Norman C. Hinkle, 91, of St. Paul, passed away Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, at Ashford Place Health Campus in Shelbyville. He was born May 22, 1925, to Herman Hinkle and Edith (Bostic) Hinkle in Shelby County. He married Doris M. (Hoban) Hinkle on Sept. 9, 1945, and she preceded him in death July 24, 2010. Survivors include two sons: Norman M. "Mick" Hinkle and wife, Cathy, of Fishers; and Marvin "Rick" Hinkle and wife, Susan, of St. Paul; five grandchildren: Chris Hinkle and wife, Breana; Sam Hinkle; Sara Hanlin and husband, Aaron; Isaac Hinkle and wife, Amber; and Noah Hinkle and wife, Emily; and four great-grandchildren, Cameron and Madison Hinkle, Margaret Hanlin and Beckett Hinkle. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Mr. Hinkle was a lifetime resident of the area. He graduated from Waldron High School in 1943. Mr. Hinkle was a farmer. He was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge No. 217 of Waldron and the Waldron Volunteer Fire Department. Norman enjoyed woodworking and had built several grandfather clocks. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016, at Glenn E. George Funeral Home, 106 E. Franklin St., St. Paul, IN 47272. Private burial will be at Van Pelt Cemetery in Shelby County. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Waldron Volunteer Fire Department, in care of the funeral home.
