Marilyn S. Chambers Obituary (1937

Marilyn S. Chambers, 79, of Waldron, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016, at Ashford Place Health Campus. She was born May 9, 1937, to Virgil Perry and Lona (Conway) Perry in Boggstown. She married Franklin L. Chambers on Nov. 27, 1954, and he survives. Other survivors include four children: Debra Mathies and husband, Steven, of Shelbyville; Linda Wagner and partner, Steve Garrett, of Greensburg; Darlene Clark of St. Paul; and Larry Chambers and partner, Lori Risley, of Greenwood; sister, Joan Owens of St. Paul; sisters-in-law, Billie Leffler and Linda Nicholson; 11 grandchildren: Jamin Clark and wife, Kristy; Amy Erwin and husband, Brian; Nikki Adams; Chanda Dick and husband, Dana; Nathan Adams and wife, Erica; Tate Linville and wife, Meagan; Natasha Wagner, Myka Chambers, Samantha Chambers, Grace Risley and Nathan Risley; 10 great-grandchildren: Rylee, Emily, Sara, McKenna, Ian, Abigail, Clare, Kody, Eryn and Emmaline; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant sisters; brothers, Robert Perry, Larry Perry and Gary Perry; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Perry; and nephew, Michael Perry. Mrs. Chambers had lived in the Geneva area since 1987, after moving from St. Paul. She graduated from St. Paul High School in 1955. She was a homemaker. Marilyn loved to cook, often preparing enough food for an army. The special requests from her family and extended family included homemade yeast rolls, banana pudding, cheesecake, homemade ham salad and no-bake cookies. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, Shelbyville, IN 46176. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Horner officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or the American Heart Association, in care of the funeral home.
