Jay Griffith

Jay Griffith, 71 of Shelbyville passed away Tuesday June 19, 2018, at Heritage House Greensburg, In

Born January 4, 1947, in Shelby County. he was the son of Leonard Griffith and Edna (Ratekin) Griffith.
He married Patty (Glackman) Griffith on January 10,1970 and she survives.

Other survivors include sisters, Sandra Hobbs (husband George), Elizabeth Callaway, & Dorothy Parsley,
all of Shelbyville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents, 4 brothers Thomas, Eddie, Harold & David Griffith, 1 Sister Barbara Barrett, & a
nephew Lenny Griffith.

Mr.Griffith had lived in this area his entire lifetime, and had been a factory worker at WAP, Inc. for 13 years and had been employed in maintenance at
Wellman Thermal Systems for 35 years. He attended Shelbyville High School and West Street United Methodist Church. He was a US Navy veteran.

Jay enjoyed gardening, having breakfast at Shirley's Chaperral Cafe with his buddies, and walking his dog Beau accompanied
by Bella his cat. He loved music and enjoyed converting old vinyl records onto CD's.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2018, at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Ronnie Caine officiating.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2018, at the funeral home. A military memorial service will be conducted by a local veterans
organization.
