Betty Ottinger

Betty J. Ottinger, 84, of Indianapolis, former Fairland resident, passed away Saturday,December 8, 2018 at Rosegate Village.
Born July 14, 1934 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Homer Porter and Leota(Wellington) Porter. She married Ray Ottinger on June 11, 1955 and he preceded her onJanuary 16, 2013.
Survivors includes 4 children: Timothy Ray Ottinger (wife Libby) of Round Lake Beach,Illinois, Daniel Lee Ottinger of Shelbyville, daughters Rebecca Lynn Coleman (husbandRobert L. Jr.) of Indianapolis, Margaret Jo-Anne Collingwood of New Whiteland; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, and eightbrothers and sisters.
Mrs. Ottinger had lived in this area since 1957, after moving from southern Indiana. She was a homemaker, and attended Oolitic High School.
Betty was an amazing cook, and her family meant everything to her. She was well likedby all and made many friends at Rosegate, where she enjoyed attending church serviceswith them.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Tim Ottinger officiating. Visitation will be Wednesdaymorning from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will be in Van Pelt Cemetery.
