Anita Sopher

Anita L. Sopher, 77, of Edinburgh passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at Waldron Health & Rehab.

Born on February 8, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of Bernard Pasinski and Joahanna (Cielinski) Pasinski. She married Oren G. Sopher and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include companion- Wally Johns; daughter Kimberly (Eddie) Sopher of Chicago; and several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Oren, her parents and daughter Cynthia (Sopher) Leclercq.

Anita was a resident of this area for 20 plus years after moving from Illinois. She worked as a Nurses Aide for Evangelical Hospital and with Securitas. She was a member of St. Maurice Catholic Church. Anita enjoyed cooking, her cat "Oreo", watching her favorite movie "Dirty Dancing", and was a huge Elvis Presley fan.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm, Friday, November 6, 2026, at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road. Family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of the service, at the funeral home.
